Great museum plenty to see, staff are very communicative, close to good eateries.
We recently visited Uralla for a short break, partly to check out family and local history and partly to visit a township I came to some 45 years back. One of the true highlights of our visit was this Museum. It is run by volunteers, all clearly devoted to the upkeep of the Museum and the telling of the stories that count. Amazingly, there is no interactive displays! Which is wonderful. They are genuine true museum pieces with written stories to share the early days, the hardships and the delights of a small early settler country town. Some seriously fine art works, historical pieces, old vehicles railway memorabilia and the building itself. It is one of the best local museums you will ever visit.
Fun museum, lots of history and guide was great at telling the story of the place and everything that was there.
